Navigation
Common Navigation
Knowledge Prospector provides a wide variety of navigation tools
for each type of data representation - tables, graphs and charts. The
design of Knowledge Prospector provides uniform navigation methods independent of data representation. For example,
dimensions can be switched using drag & drop from row to column or
off an axis entirely. Additional dimensions can be added or nested on
any member axis in any type of graph.
Common Controls
The location of slicer dimension member controls is constant between data representations or
views, but each view can include its own distinct combination of
dimensions.
Hierarchical Navigation
On any of the standard view types, you can drill up, drill down or drill across the
hierarchical structure of a dimension, as well as drill through to the relational data source in
Analysis Services cubes where this capability is enabled. Drill up and down also give you the
option to either replace existing members shown (Destructive), or add to the members shown (Non-Destructive).
Hide/Show
Any member can be explicitly hidden or shown for better visualization of items. Hide/Show
whole ranges of members using rules that are simple to create but sophisticated,
such as for exception
reporting.
Actions
Actions are an Analysis Services feature that has been supported since Knowledge Prospector Version 2.0.
Sorting
Sort by a single member column or row using right-click commands. Use
our simple rule builder to perform sophisticated multi-level sorts.
